This text is from a vintage postcard featuring a view of the Jungfrau mountain from Interlaken, Switzerland. Interlaken is a town located on the right bank of the Aar river and relies heavily on tourism for its revenue. The Jungfrau is one of the highest mountains in the Bernese Alps and is known for its stunning colors at certain times. It reaches a height of 13,720 feet and was first reached by two Swiss gentlemen named Meyer in 1811. There is now a railroad that leads almost to the summit of the mountain. The back of the postcard includes instructions for addressing and placing a stamp, with different postage rates for domestic and foreign destinations.
