This postcard features a photograph of one of the allegorical figures at the entrance of the Supreme Court Building in Washington, D.C. The figure was sculpted by James E. Fraser from a 250-ton slab of Vermont marble. The Court’s motto, “Equal Justice Under Law,” is also visible on the facade above the figure. The postcard was taken by National Geographic photographer Joseph J. Scherschel in 1976 during a trip to Washington, D.C. It also mentions the foundation of the Federal Bar Association in 1970.
