This postcard features a photograph of an allegorical figure known as “Guardian” or “Authority of Law” at the main entrance of the Supreme Court Building in Washington, D.C. The statue, completed by James E. Fraser in 1935, depicts a figure holding a tablet of laws and a sheathed sword. The photograph was taken by National Geographic photographer Victor R. Boswell, Jr. in May 13, 1976.
