Exploring the Grand Coulee Dam in Washington
Have you ever seen the Grand Coulee Dam in Washington during the late summer months? If so, you may have noticed that there is very little water falling over the face of the dam. This is because during this time of year, all of the water is being diverted through the generators for the manufacture of electric power. It’s quite a sight to see the entire Columbia River passing through the Power Houses!
This stunning view is captured on a postcard distributed only by Smith-Western Co., Tacoma Portland. The color on the postcard is by Dick Webb, adding an extra touch of beauty to the scene.
If you haven’t had the chance to visit the Grand Coulee Dam, it’s definitely worth adding to your bucket list. The sheer size and power of the dam is truly impressive, and learning about how it generates electricity for the region is fascinating.
Next time you’re in Washington, be sure to make a stop at the Grand Coulee Dam. It’s a sight you won’t soon forget!
