The postcard features a photograph of Tryon Palace in New Bern, North Carolina, which was the first permanent capitol of North Carolina. Built between 1767-1770 by Royal Governor William Tryon, the palace was restored between 1952-1959 through the generosity of Mrs. James Edwin Latham.
