Welcome to Mt. Egmont, also known as Mt. Taranaki, a stunning 8,260ft peak located in New Zealand. As you make your way along the Stratford Mountain Road, you’ll be greeted by the majestic sight of Mt. Egmont and Fantham’s Peak, standing at 6,438ft.
Egmont National Park is a paradise for botanists, with its virgin native forests teeming with a diverse range of fauna and flora. Keep an eye out for the large Egmont Buttercup, a unique and beautiful flower that can be found in the park. Waterfalls, rivers, and walking trails offer plenty of opportunities to immerse yourself in nature.
For those seeking adventure, the higher levels of Mt. Egmont provide excellent skiing and climbing opportunities. The views from the slopes of Mt. Egmont are truly breathtaking, with Taranaki’s rich dairy farmlands stretching out in a chequer-board pattern to the horizon.
